The ACT Writers Centre runs a wide variety of creative and professional development workshops. All our upcoming workshops are advertised here, but we often launch new workshops as tutors become available, so be sure to visit this page regularly. You can also be alerted to new workshops as they become available by subscribing to our free weekly e-news. If you would like to subscribe, send us an email and we will add you to our database. To enroll in a workshop, please contact the office during opening hours Tuesday-Saturday on 6262 9191. Payment can be made by credit card over the phone. Cash/cheque payments are also accepted, but enrollment will not be confirmed until payment is received. Bookings can also be made online using paypal or credit card. Click here to book online * All workshops will be held in the ACT Writers Centre workshop room unless otherwise specified. ** Completing this application form does not guarantee you a place in the course you have chosen. Sometimes courses fill before we get a chance to remove the form from our website. In this event you would be refunded your full payment. *** Tea, coffee and biscuits are generally provided for workshop participants. Ongoing workshops Script Mentoring Online Workshops (available year round) This service takes a project (feature film or TV drama) from story to screenplay over 12 weeks - which can begin at any time of the year. It is an in-depth development process using email and Skype conversations, with an academic-based schedule of assignments, feedback and clearly defined steps, which will progress a project to a completed screenplay package. The mentor, Hunter Cordaiy, teaches script at tertiary level and works professionally as a writer and script editor. Biography and credits at www.huntercordaiy.com About Hunter Cordaiy: I
have been very grateful to Hunter and his deep experience in the area
of storytelling - he has great insight and understanding of
how
stories work - he can work with students individually over
the
arc of a course - ie he establishes structure suitable for mentoring
one to one and within groups. Since Hunter joined us our Writing for
Digital Media class numbers have doubled and the student feedback is
nothing short of excellent ! - students are inspired by his passion for
the subject. - Dr Phillip George (Senior Lecture Bachelor
of Digital Media College of Fine Art UNSW)
